Thankfulness Day 3: Our great dogs

Austin, with Gus and Boomer

We grew up with dogs, cats, goats, chickens, and other various animals around, so renting many places that don't allow pets hasn't always been easy. But as is often the case, God can work these things out and bless us in the most unexpected ways.

Last year around this time, we were miraculously able to get into the fabulous rental house we are in now (another long story of God's goodness to us). Still wanting animals, but unable to have any, we suddenly found that two neighborhood dogs were coming by more and more often.
It turns out that they are the landlord's dogs, Gus and Boomer, and they seem to have adopted us as their new second family! In fact, as I write this, they are lying just outside our front door, waiting for more petting or someone to come and throw them a ball.

They hang around much of the time now, and like nothing better than to come on our woods walks or bike-rides. Even though they're not officially ours, they've become like family to us.
