Thankfulness Day 24: Another good day

Today I'm just thankful to be alive. It's been a really good day, and a good week, for that matter.

Austin took a molecular biology midterm this morning, and did really well! I nearly finished the first 6 of 14 lessons in my organic chemistry II course, and Curtis is progressing through a new course at med school, one on "generations," covering everything from birth to death. He wouldn't say this himself, but he passed the last course with honors!

There is snow falling on the deck out our window, almost half an inch deep and steadily increasing. Winter is coming on fast, and we are glad to be inside where it is warm and there is a fire in the fireplace.

In my work today I was helping a couple in Florida start a nonprofit that will provide clothing and other necessities to children in need. And another in the Midwest who are training nursing assistants in the inner city, helping people to get out of a vicious cycle of poverty. Helping people to help others is what I call a great job!

In the evening, we drove down the hill and met a neighbor who gave us a large wood cabinet that is in great shape. We love the generosity and community mindset of the people around here!

Then came dinner of Ems' hot enchiladas verdes, peas, asparagus, and Mums' amazing chocolate chip cookies.

So, there's a snapshot of a great day here in Vermont with the A Team. Life is good!
