Urgent prayer request - Ebola victims in Liberia

I just received the email below from Dr. David Stevens, the president of the Christian Medical and Dental Association. Please join with Christians around the world in prayer for these two missionaries, their families (both are married and have two kids each), and the many other victims of this deadly disease.

Dear CMDA Members,
The most important thing we can do for each other is pray. There is an urgent prayer request that needs your intercession.

  • Dr. Kent Brantly, a CMDA member was just diagnosed with Ebola over the weekend. Kent and his wife Amber are part of World Medical Missions’ post residency mission fellowship and are serving at ELWA Hospital in Liberia. CMDA provided them new missionary orientation a year ago. Kent was heading up their Ebola care center. There are more details in a Fox News Report and on the Samaritan’s Purse website. Also pray for Nancy Writebol, a SIM missionary who was decontaminating those leaving the Ebola care unit, who has also fallen ill with the virus. Pray for God’s healing hand to touch both Nancy and Kent.
The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much. James 5:16
You can send an e-mail of encouragement to Amber Brantly HERE and we will forward them on.
SIM is urgently looking for healthcare professionals to help at ELWA. For more information click here.
In Him who is faithful,

Dave Stevens, MD, MA (Ethics)
