Thankfulness Day 12: The California Baby Bar

It is the last Tuesday of October - a day that will be forever stamped upon the memories of all Oak Brook College of Law students. It is the day the first year J.D. class takes the "Baby Bar" in California, the test that simulates one day of the Bar, and that will weed out all but the most dedicated.

Curtis took this test back in 2006, and Austin and I in 2009, the year the pass rate was 17%. Today, it is the OBCL class of 2013. I only know one of the students, but they've all been in our prayers this morning, as we think of what they are going through. As I write, they are working through the last of four essays on torts, contracts, and criminal law. This afternoon, they will finish the day with 100 multiple choice questions on the same subjects.

So I'm thankful today to be finished with that test, as well as the Bar (which Curtis passed in 2010, and Austin and I in 2013), but also to be able to stand with those who are still back there, with 5 hours of testing left and then the long 3 month wait for the results.

Austin and I took the Bar in Pasadena, CA.

The best law school class ever! (We're missing a few classmates here, but this is the group that took the Bar together)
